Media Log
I did the whole "keep a log of the media you consume" thing, and wow, I listen to a load of music. I don't read as much as I should, even though I used to read all the time. I also spent a lot of time watching Prison Break online. But that does not come as a surprise to me. I rarely find a show I might like until partway through the series. Battlestar Galactica was on season 3 before I discovered just how amazing it is, and Firefly and Serenity had ended when my dad sat me down to watch an episode on vacation. But anyway, I tend to listen to music all of the time, for any reason.(I'm listening to it now...) I tend to watch tv even if I have other things I could be doing. Prison Break is just too awesome for me to pass up.

Mass Media Problems & Possibilities
Mass media can have either a positive or negative effect on society. It serves as a bridge between different people all over the world, bringing news and entertainment to people almost instantly. If I missed an episode of Battlestar Galactica, I know that I will be able to watch it the next day on the internet. Conversely, mass media can be used to spread a message that other people don't want known. For instance, in the movie Serenity, Malcolm Reynolds learns a secret that would deal a painful blow to the Alliance. The Operative fights Mal in order to stop him from getting the secret out via the Cortex, their name for the internet.

Music
Music is a huge part of my life. Whenever I am sitting in my room there is almost always music playing. (There is music playing even as I write this) When I was young my parents listened to various types of music but I never really listened to it. I started listening to my own music when I was eleven. After many years and many different types of music, I decided that Heavy Metal was my favorite genre. My parents are not fans of screaming in music, so I couldn't play my music too loudly at first. They have come to terms with the fact that I like Metal, and I try to listen to other things when we are in the same area. When I listen to a song that I really like, it tends to make me start playing air guitar or air drums right on the spot. If it is an orchestral piece, I find myself pretending to conduct.
